I think I need to replace the seal on my trunk but can't find the part online at any of the auto parts sites... is there some oddball name that it goes by other than a trunk seal/gasket? Or should I just run some silicone caulking around the existing seal to see if that works first?

if it's an old car, just get some of that silicone at the auto store, black will work, or clear if they don't have black. Will take about 12 hours or more to dry.

I think the rubber is called moulding

It could be your rear tail light assembly that's leaking especially if you own a Ford Taurus.

Go to your local auto wrecking yard they might have what you are looking for. If not they can find it for you.
