i know i can call from payphone, write him letters, and email him while he's here in america and i travel to italy... but is there another way i can communicate with him? is there a cellular phone i can use that i can call and/or text him while i'm in italy and he's in america?

try a calling card... they work well

Hi, I live in Italy and work in a hotel. Well, using a cell phone is pretty expensive as so is using a calling card (well, some have really good minutes and some don't...the problem is finding the ones who do). There are a lot of immigrants here, and so there are a lot of call centers here. Usually they have really cheap rates for calling abroad. Emails are pretty cheap, too.
