Last night around 9:00am, I started having a stomach ache. It wasn't bad just like regular stomach discofort. I thought it could be sour stomach so I took an antacid. Around, 11:00 the cramps started to get very bad and I could not sleep. About two hours later, I decided to take a bentyl ( I was prescribed this last year when I went to the ER for bad cramps I thought was appedicitis. But, I was sent home with just a diagnosis of stomach cramps which is why I decided not to go to the ER last night and wait to see how I felt in the moring) The bentyl started working but I had nausea and ended up vomiting. After I vomited the cramps started going away. I feel fine this morning my stomach aches a little but I think it is because it is empty. In addition to the cramps, I had nausea, chills, no fever though, the urge to pass gas but couldn't. Any ideas what it could be. I feel good now so I wait till tomoorow to see if I should go to the doctor.

Sure could be a Stomach Virus/Food Poisoning...Keep yourself light today and if tomorrow still having symptoms you should call your doctor 1st. thing in the morning

Sorry, but I have to snicker some cause we all hit this sooner or later and I hit it bout a year ago.

Look at what you ate. Something you ate your body doesn't like anymore. Lettuce, onion, something. Or it could of been food poisoning from not properly washed hands.

When either get into your gut, within 2 hrs your stomach will shut down and the colon takes over squeezing and working hard to remove the substance it does not like. The feeling of gas is the colon producing extra chemicals and gases to move this product out, faster the better. You will go through sweats, cold chills, sometimes be curled over with just serious cramps, the feeling of a 10 foot telephone pole coming out the back side, etc.

Just body's defense on removing something ASAP.

I went through this about 4 times before I put a connection to what I was doing, for prior I could eat anything, stomach of iron. But I realized when I mix BBQ sauce and bacon....I now pay for it, hard.

Realize what you ate at 9 then make a note. The next time you cramp over like this, realize again what you ate and then compare, you'll find something that repeated and that is the guilty party. Lettuce got Dad, something as simple as a green leaf.

I had the exact same thing a week ago.. Cramps became really bad and eventually i threw up and i was burping as if i had acid indigestion. It turned out to be a stomach virus because 2 days later i still felt kind of sick and couldn't eat as much. Eventually I felt better so yeah it was only a stomach virus.

A. mild food poisoning
B. gallbladder stone ´(espcially if accompanied with pain in the shoulder).

A stomach virus (rotavirus or any nother) would not last only 12 hours.
Just to play it safe, stick to clear liquids and don't eat fat till you see your doctor.
