I am 39 weeks pregnant and want to induce labour naturally. I heard that there are massage trigger points that can get the process rolling. Please share your knowledge as I am getting pretty uncomfortable with this pregnancy. I have tried sex, walking, raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, spicy foods. I want to avoid castor oil since I have researched it and it says it can cause fetal distress. If there is anything else that have worked for people, please share. Thank you.

I am in the same boat as you. 39 weeks pregnant and ready to have this baby! Anyways, in my prenatal classes, they told us about three different acupuncture spots that are actually proven in the midwifery world to induce labour.
1) There is a spot on your feet. If you look it up on the internet you can find a foot map of all the acupuncture spots on the foot. There is one for the bladder, one to stimulate orgasim, and one for labour. I am not exactly sure where it is, but like I said, it will be on the internet somewhere.
2) If you take your fingers and start your pinkie on your ankle bone, and place them side by side, going up your leg towards your knee, the place where your index finger rests is where you put pressure. That is another proven spot.
3) The other spot I know about it the little piece of skin between your index finger and your thumb. You are suppose to take your opposite hands index finger and thumb, and almost pinch that area, quite hard. That can also bring on labour.
Now I havent actually tried these yet. But give them a shot. Your never know what might work for you. I figure at 39 weeks you cant really go wrong, that baby is pretty much ready to come out! Good luck!!!

Massage trigger point? The breasts! I have done a lot of alternative health reading so unfortunately don't remember the source on this one, but believe it or not, nipple tweeking is actually used in some countries to get labor moving along when it hits a stopping point. It's not used in this country as it would be considered politically incorrect for your OB to tweek your nipples. However, nipple tweeking and breast massage in general do release hormones which is why it is used (and works...) in foreplay. Good luck! Ain't nothing sweeter than a baby!

Look up accupressure. They say it can trigger labor and also help with labor pains. There are different points and techniques. Although I would recommend someone trained to help you. Also it is shown that nipple stimualtion works. Your body releases oxytocin, the hormone that kick starts labor. I have read it should be done one hour at a time three times per day. Although some docs recommend this if you are already at the hospital being monitered since contractions can become intense.

The trigger points are on the bottom of your feet.

But I don't recommend it, if a baby is born too soon they have more chances of having complications.

Also, even though the doctor says your due date is marked at 40 weeks, a baby can actually be born two weeks after your due date.

You need to trust you body and the baby, when the time is right nature will do what is necessary - the baby will be born - just be patient.

Good luck!

have your man do the same thing to you he did when you got knocked up. Sex can induce labour. Tell him to hit your Gspot. Its a great trigger point.

I heard it is around the bottom of your ankle, in the back just above your heel. A message therapy friend told me about it when I was very pregnant. He would not do it on me though, Cause I was only like 38 weeks. I tried to do it myself but no luck. But message those ankles anyways, wouldn't hurt!

There is a little pocket of fluid behind your ankle that when you massage it it releases hormones that stimulate labor. You can feel it, its a sensitive spot that you need someone else to massage for you.
