What is the best way to de-weed a gravel driveway?

yes round-up is the best ,but be careful what you spray it on it will kill anything you spray it on..

Well, my driveway is about 100 feet long and you won't find a weed in it. I give it a thorough weeding by hand each Spring and then each time i walk up/down the driveway I pull what weeds I see. Then about July I do the whole thing again and then just my daily routine. Believe it or not, it works. Of course, at my age I don't know how many more years I'll be able to do all the bending over. If you use a soil sterilant nothing will grow for three years on that spot.. Be careful that you do not get it on any thing else or you will definately kill it..I believe the active ingredient is borax. The other ingredient is 24C. That is Agent Orange a defoliant. Usually if you read the label and see what is the highest ingredient that is usually the active part the rest may just be filler. With 24d that is the stuff they defoliated the forests in Viet Nam. It is a cancer causing agent in large quantities. The amount in soil sterilant i think is safe if used properly. The choice is up to you. Any thing that kills any thing is poison and should be used wisely.

First I've heard of Burn Out but Round-Up is fairly eco-friendly. If you want to make your own you can boil barley straw (rye, wheat, oats and other small grains work but not as well) for an hour and "water" (not spray) your weeds. If you want instant gratification (don't we all) just pour plain boiling water on them. RScott
