I would like to form a motorcycle club but want to make sure its official. Are there requirements or can I just assemble and sew MC on my jacket?

Yeah, I wouldn't sew MC on my jacket. I got friends I ride with but we wear no patches...cause we don't belong to any sort of riding club, MC club or whatever.

BUT, some clubs are more like riding clubs only...just friends and some have nation wide chapters (the biggest one I know is HOG). Those are all NOT part of a 1%er type club.

Now if your talking about forming a 1%er club, you'd better do some checking around with other 1% clubs in your local. Since I'm not fimiliar with anything beyond that I will not speculate or comment about how to do that and whom to talk to.

Good luck on your venture.

It depends. If you are looking to form a chapter of an existing national club, you'll need to contact the national organization. Note that the sort that aren't 1%ers have a tendancy to avoid the word "club" in their names.

If you're starting a new club, don't come up with an emblem that will get easily confused with any of the 1%ers or hardcore biker clubs. The recording industry isn't the only group out there that can be rather protective of their intellectual property.

Contact you local Conferation of Clubs, or National Coalition of Motorcyclists. Don't just sew MC on your jacket.

To be "sanctioned" you must go through the A.M.A.. if your looking to be a riding club. However, if your looking to be "hardcore",DON'T, your definately not ready yet. Good luck.
