What is the difference between the regular cycle and the pots & pans cycle on the dishwasher?

I know that the pots and pans cycle washes pots and pans. But what does the dishwsher do differently then the normal cycle?

It doesn't do anything different mechanically or secretly inside. It just may wash a little longer is all, or may have that extra heater to heat the water even hotter. Hope this answers your question.
