It gets easier not harder.....and everyones pregnancies are different. Nothing can be done without your consent. You can put off having you water broken if you choose. By breaking it, they can speed up labor, but the chance of infection increases. Just talk with your doctor about delaying breaking your water. He/She will be able to address it and give you their reasons for performing this. If you let the Dr. know ahead of time that you don't want a lot of intervention done (break water, episiotomy, pain meds etc.) It will make it much easier come delivery time.
Good luck and congratulations.

Oh my goodness we are one and the same....I had exactly the same with my first and second pregnancies as you did and im now pregnant with my third...but im 4 months...thats the only difference I can see. My midwife told me at 11 weeks that 3rd babies are the ones that you have problems with.....
My sons waters had to be broken (1st baby)when i was about 9 cm dilated. Then with my Daughter (2nd baby) the bag came out wrapped round her face...must have burst during the pushing and it was all a bit of an emergency until they had released her so she could breath.....it makes me,like you wonder whats in store this time.???? Guess we'll both have to wait and see but I'll be reading your answers to see what people suggest. goodluck to you x x x x

okay I also am a mom of three, none of which had the bag of waters break naturally the dr's had to do it for me. My third was different cause it took longer but I think that was cause I had my first epidural, I went to the hospital with no labor pains just restlessness and was 5cm dialated so they wouldn't let me go home, but the pains afterwords the cramping in your belly is a pain that I had never experienced before- puts labor pains to shame in my opinion. Other then that it was extremely pleasant since everyone was well rehearsed on the drill of what to do.

Everybody is different. I've had 5 kids. With the first 2 my water broke and I went into labor. The 3rd I went into labor and then my water broke. The 4th and 5th, they had to break my water and they waited a long time on the 5th. My experience was that the contractions were more painful if the water had not broke and the labor went slower. You can not refuse to have your water broke because as labor progresses it can put your child's health in jeopardy, my 5th's(which they waited for ever to break) started to go into distress because they waited so long.
Good luck and enjoy your child.

I am a mum to 4 girls and i can`t remember the 3rd (zoey)being any different from the previous deliveries , i had my waters broken with the first 3 and my 4th went theirselves . Zoey was difficult to deliver as she was 9lb but other than that everything was brilliant . Don`t listen to scaremongers , i don`t understand why people say things like that its total nonsense ..
Enjoy your pregnancy and relax as much as you can !
Congratulations x

My wife had her water broken with the first 2 and had the 3rd completely natural. The big key is to relax and enjoy as much as you can being pregnant

Not sure about the whole breaking of your water bag, you will have to talk w/ your doctor/midwife. My 3rd was by far the easiest. It usually gets easier with subsequent L&D, not harder. But in the same respect each L&D is different.

I just had my 3rd feb 1st of this year, I did think that my 3rd pregnancy was worse but the labor and delivery was a piece of cake compared to the last 2. My first born water snaged and they had to brake it because it was only leaking. My second born they had to brake it too and they broke my thirds water too. I think that you can ask them not to brake your water inless they need too.. The reason they broke all mine was to make my labors go quicker.. and it worked for me. Best of luck with your third.. God bless you!!
