I'm fairly new at this computer and I can not figure how to delete a game I installed with a cd, it's The Sims 2, if that help you at all.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
:)

Check first if the program installer on the CD has an "Uninstall" option. If it does, you're in luck - the uninstaller will delete the program and all files connected with it from your hard drive.

If there is no "uninstall" option, you can use a shareware program. I know of two:

uApp is a free program (see the link below). Just drag the icon for the program (it's probably in the Applications folder) to the uApp window and the program and some of (all of) its associated files will be deleted from your computer. uApp sometimes doesn't delete all of a program's files, so see my other solution below to get rid of any remaining files associated with the program.

AppZapper (see link below) costs $12.95 and I've heard that it does the job better than uApp.

Another solution is to do a Finder search for all files related to the Sims program. Type "Sims" in the search box at the top of any Finder window and you'll immediately start to see a list of files that contain the word Sims. Carefully, delete files in the list that you are certain are part of the program.

Since you're a new Mac user, I would suggest you try AppZapper. It's the safest way to delete the files.

Good luck.

Hi there, need more information, did you download a windows version or a mac version? I also just bought a mac computer a few weeks ago. =) I just bought the Sims games but through the Apple store online so i'm hoping that it will work on my computer. If it was a windows version, it is probably showing up on your desktop on the right hand side of your screen. If that is the case, just click it, and drag it with your mouse to your trash can at the bottom of the screen and then let go of your mouse. If it is the mac, then I suggest looking at your owners manual, or going to the apple website and finding help there, as i'm new at this as well i'm not quite sure. Good luck!
