Can anyone give an idea, if my friend and her husband gets divorce, how much will the child recieve from the child support. Is that depends on the household income or what?

In California there is a calculation they use. It is determined on both parents income, not just the husband. I don't how it works, they have a machine down at the courthouse where you can put in the figures and it kicks out an amount.

It depends on what lifestyle the children are accustomed to and how much the non-custodial parent makes. It also depends on custody arrangements. For example, if the child lives with one parent for 4 days a week and the other for 3 days a week. I've known couples who have had this arrangement and it seems okay. I guess alot of it depends on the family court judge, too

In California the max amount is NOT $500 a month. I live in CA and my husband had to pay $1900 a month ($950 was taken out of his paycheck every 2 weeks). My income was never an issue.

It is based on a % of income of the non-custodial parent and is based on the number of children. A good rule of thumb in most states is around 15-20% of that persons's net income after taxes but before deductions for insurance or 401 K's etc. It could be higher if the person makes a lot.
