Remember President Clinton cited the same evidence when he bombed Iraq.

He may have prettied it up a bit to support his decision, but everybody thought Iraq had WMD at the time, including the UN. The inspectors were only able to say they had not found any yet, but wanted more time to complete their inspection.

It is wrong to say he didn't sincerely believe there was WMD there lacking other evidence. Where he differed with the rest of the planet was on the best means to insure the WMD was gone.

Clearly somebody(s) in that adminsitration knew the yellow cake was a fabrication, there is a question in my mind whether he knew it or not. Powell obviously did not, or he never would have put his reputation on the line the way he did, so I can't just chalk this up to the usual Dubya ineptitude.

Removing Saddam has been US policy for years, even under Clinton. The administration had bad intelligence and relied too much on ex-Iraqis in the States. I think the intelligence was interpreted too broadly, yet Saddam did have WMDs in the past and had used them.

He used gas on the Kurds in the 1980s and kicked out the inspectors. Some WMD info was incorrect, but some small quantities were found.

Well on the WMD issue he got what he wanted a favorable report to give the green light for war. They had given or sold WMD to the Iraqis during the time Iraq fought Iran for us, to use on the Iranians. Well that does not matter now they got what they wanted Iraq, now they are planing to make money. We created the Iraq mess so we can not leave and congress knows that, we spent billions of dollars there and they can not abandon the Iraqi people. This country Iraq is rich in resources and I just can't see America leaving that on the table, yes if the US death were much higher like 50000 dead & 150,000 wounded then yes it would be time to leave

No, he "got" the same info that clinton and the rest of the world (united nations) "got"

So it was only a lie when Bush said it, not all the liberals, like clinton, albright, etc. before he was in office?

So when was the magic date that saddam no longer had wmd, was it the first day Bush was in office?

Him and his cohorts conjured up the false accusation of the WMD threat in Iraq. It is amazing how much of the American people never ask enough questions instead of just outright believing ever word the president speaks. Impeach Bush!

He got the info he wanted, and as long as the fact that it was bad didn't come out until troops were already engaged so he could call anyone opposed to his agenda unpatriotic terrorist-coddling appeasers.

Here's something I've noticed about the Bush administration is that actual facts are kept secret. Whatever comes out in their statements is fabrication at its worst and spin at its best.

Yes he told us a lie, here's a famous quote to help you. "The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie then to a small one" -- Adolf Hitler

We are continously told a great lie over and over again, and surely enough, the people start to believe it regardless of what others know and believe.

Here's another: When placed into a pot of hot water, a frog will jump out. When placed into a pot of warm water, the frog will remain in the pot until it is gradually boiled.[2] If you are comfortable with the government slowly stripping away your liberties one at a time, would you be just as comfortable with them taking all of your liberties away all at once?

WAKE UP PEOPLE, THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!! RESEARCH THE FACTS, LEARN THE TRUTH REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH IT HURTS OR YOU FEEL CONTENT IT'S NOT WHAT THE MEDIA TELLS YOU. THE MEDIA IS CONTROLLED BY BIG BUSINESSES. THE SAME THAT CONTROL OUR GOVERNMENT.

He got bad advice. It was obligingly supplied by Tony Bliar.

EDIT: vegaswoman is correct but suicide is just the official cause of death. Britain carries out very few political assassinations but when they do, they bugger it up royally. Check out Hilda Murrell and William McRae.

What's worse is that even though his quotes on the white house web site prove his lies, the Bushie Lemmings will still say he didn't.
