Some women say they have looser BM's prior to labor. However the swelling may need to be evaluated. Depends on how much swelling you have and where. If it is just in the ankles you can elevate your legs. If in the face and hands, speak w/ your doc soon. Homestretch, soon you will have your baby all nestled with you ;)

What exactly is swollen? If it is your body, then you should see a doctor, as swelling is a symptom of Toxemia (sp?). Unsure aboout the runs problem, I was told it can be fairly normal with all the relaxing muscles and stuff going on with the body in your late stage of pregnancy. Only you can know how you feel, if you feel like something is wrong- then definitely go to the doctors- personally- I would go, just to be on the safe side...or at least call the hospital and speak with a nurse/doctor and get their opinions. Other than that- keep your water up, the runs can dehydrate you very quickly. Good luck!

calm down sweetie, the runs could be just something you have eaten, you may be getting a flu bug, or it could be the start of on coming labor, every womens body reacts different to labor wether it be in the begining, middle or end.As far as the swelling that is really normal,so dont worry about that.Just take it easy and watch your self, drink plenty of water so you dont dehydrate,If you notice anything that you are not comfortable with or just want to ease your mind then call your Dr,there should be someone on call hope this helps and best wishes good luck

Labor puts pressure on the bowels. You may be in labor. Are you having contractions? Has your water broken? Have you lost your mucus plug? Are you bleeding at all? I would strongly advise you to either contact your doctor or go to the ER. Since you are full term, it definitely sounds like you are about to have a baby. Good luck!

I wouldn't go to the ER necessarily, but you may want to call your doctor. Most have a phone number you can call on their answering machine if they aren't in. Runs are common, but you could get dehydrated (which can also lead to swelling) so drink a bunch. Good luck! You're almost to the finish line.

Sweetie, GO TO THE ER! Don't take any chances, there's always a risk of Toxemia which would be TOXIC for you and your child! That causes EXTREME SWELLING in your body and CAN KILL YOU AND YOUR CHILD.....GO TO THE DOCTOR! PLEASE!
You DON'T have to call 911, but you NEED TO GET CHECKED AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE OK.
HOWEVER, you MAY just be RETAINING WATER and expelling it through the diarrhea as opposed to peeing like a racehorse.

No if the runs started this morning than i wouldn't worry about it but it you still have them tomorrow i would go to your Dr or walk in clinic to get checked often your body will get rid of any thing in your system before you go into labour. Just try not to get to stressed out about it

You need to call your doctor. Sudden swelling can be signs of pre eclampsia....he may just want to check you out. Good luck and Congrats on the baby.
I had sudden on set of pre eclampsia with my first child....runs are not typically part of it. I just started retaining alot of fluid....
Swelling will be present in fingers, legs, ankles, feet.....as mine progressed before i called the doctor, I started getting a tingly feeling in my fingers, face and feet.
