Conservatives are pushing for Newt Gingrich top run for President. Those who really no Gingrich realize he is very intelligent and the most likely to hold Conservative values amongst the when place with the current GOP frontrunners. Can he overcome the arguably unfair negative image he developed as the Speaker of the House?
If you can't point to anything real to bash Gingrich about please move on. If you have real examples please share.

Yes and No- I always agree with him- but I think he would not be electable --His image to some, I feel, is that he is an elite pundit.

I think Newt Gingrich is certainly qualified but I would not vote for him.
The reason I would not (and this is a real reason, I am not actually saying this to just make a political point) is because he has had a long-term political career as a lobbyist and a FOX political analyst for shows like Hannity and Colmes. I would prefer a political candidate who was not a shill for such divisive employers in the private sector. I think it kind of cheapens the office if someone like that became president... but if I disagreed with his opponent then I could be pursuaded to vote for him.

Well, he's a republican, that pretty much means he doesn't have the interests of Americans at heart. The events of the last 20 years make this very clear.
We do know he supported a lynch mob impeachment of Clinton, that only served to distract the public.
On terrorism, he didn't pass Clinton's anti-terror measures in '98.
It's too bad this guy was too obsessed with Clinton's penis.
Oh, he also served his wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital. Then he cheated on his next wife with his secretary during impeachment.
The man is a menace, he would probably be worse then Bush.

I would rather undergo testicular surgery, without the benefit of anesthesia, performed by hyperactive baboons wielding chainsaws than vote for Gingrich.
If there is anything unfair about Gingrich's image, it is that he is not universally reviled as the contemptible windbag he is.

A man who left his first wife while she was in the hospital, recovering from cancer surgery, because his mistress(who he later married)would make a better looking first lady is the typical right wing leader.

After he said we should re-examine free speech because of the war on terrorism? Not likely.

Possibly. I'm reserving judgment. I think it is high time that Republicans start making the Liberals PROVE their allegations against our people. And maybe its also high time for us to start making them play by some rules, as well.
