Can anyone give me ideas for growing your own produce. Problem is I have no room for a greenhouse and have a hard landscaped garden with no available borders. I was thinking of getting a couple of woodern frames to put on the patio to grow a few things. Other problem is: I travel a lot and struggle with watering of plants. Have you any ideas how I could overcome this? xx

Grow bags and an automatic watering system. You can get all the stuff you need at any decent garden centre.

Hi there, in the delta sky miles magazine a few months ago, they had a tomato plant grower that you could keep inside your house that required little to no maitenance. It was a plant stand that came with tomatoes already on it, all you had to do was water it every so often. I'm sure they have something like that for other types of vegetables as well. It was pretty pricey, about $60 or so, but I love fresh veggies, and I'm seriously thinking of getting something like this as well. You can look at that magazine online, or do a general search for a tomato plant stand and see what comes up. Good luck and have fun growing!

The only way is to get someone to look after your garden when you travel. Otherwise its an exercise in futility. Fruit trees will water themselves. Vegetables need care other wise the weeds and lack of water will win.You can grow in containers, your problem mainly is you can not tend to them properly because of your schedule

Forget it if you travel a lot, you need to be able to take care of them regularly, and pots sound like your only alternative--no watering equals dead plants.
