I am 13 and just started wearing make-up. I need advice on how to do an everyday face. I have dark brown hair and eyes. Should i use concealer to cover my pimples? i am really confused about the whole make-up thing.

I'd say just some eyeshadow and lipgloss. You could try dabbing a bit of concealer on your pimples but don't cake it on otherwise it will be more noticable.
Don't start wearing foundation and blusher. It really ages your skin and your young so you definately won't need it. Maybe a moisturiser everyday would be good to keep your skin hydrated.

I think first and foremost taking care of your skin is number one. Be sure to wash daily, and moisturize before you apply makeup. If you have dry skin, you can use a more intense moisturizer, and if you have oily skin, use an oil free, and be sure it has sunblock in it. your skin is the largest organ in your body, take good care of it. And as far as the actual makeup goes, I'd go minimal. You're still young, so heavy daily makeup is a bit much. I'd use a light powder foundation, maybe some concealer if you feel self concious about your pimples. Just be sure to have someone help you out with the color selection cause if you get the wrong one it looks really bad. I'd say max you need moisturizer, concealer, blush, and lip gloss. I wouldn't worry about extravagant eye makeup... but if you want to wear something on your eyes use a brown shadow on your lower lids, and maybe some lighter pinks or tans on your brow bone. Don't worry about liner or mascara yet. at your age those will just make your eyes look heavier and you'll just look sleep deprived most of the time! ;-p
really, just play away! That's what will give you the best application.

well, if you have breakouts i suggest not wearing any makeup until they heal. but its your life its your skin so here:
try a tinted moisturizer with spf (mac, nivea, clinique) then you can try applying concealer on the affected areas, blending it in yo make it look natural and not streaky, you can use your ring finger or a concealer brush. set it with a little loose powder. add a little cheek color like maybe some bronzer. smile and apply to the apples of your cheeks adding a little upward towards your temples. try selcting a cheek color that is not too pink or red as it will just bring out your pimples. you can also try to add some cheek tint before setting with loose powder. curl your lashes and add some clear mascara. add some pink or clear gloss and your done. a girl your age doesn't need to put too much makeup on as it will damage your skin. otherwise you will look way over your years, you want to keep it simple so that when you get glammed up for an occassion people will be stunned rather than not having a reaction at all since they see you made up all the time. you get me? less is more. makeup is for concealing flaws and enhancing features.

Don't over do things. Get Clearasil tinted acne treatment cream, that will cover pimples. Then get Almay clear complexion powder, in your skin tone, this will cover up oils and pimples and stop them from forming.
If you want use a little blush or eye shadow in neutral tones to give your face some more color. You may want to use mascara or eyeliner(brown for both- your natural colors for hair and eyes if you use a color other than your own it looks a little fake... trust me) to accent your eyes but wash that off really well before bed. Remember Don't look fake. A little goes a long way. And WASH YOUR FACE BEFORE BED!

PS: This will all work on a teen's budget.

I don't agree with Argumentativebutnot, THAT's for sure!!
And I am old enough to vouch for it. What I would say is, the earlier you start putting things on your skin, the quicker aging of the skin will come. So if you are going to wear face makeup, you will also need to know how to take care of the skin when you take the makeup off. Not all face makeup clogs pores, some actually protects the skin, but you need to get a handle on the pimples. I can vouch for Proactiv products. It helped my friend's daughter, who had serious acne as late as age 20, and it helped my son. With makeup comes other responsibilites in taking care of your skin, especially around the eyes, your lips etc.

Guys dont dig cake-faced girls at any age. Keep it minimal. mascara, lipgloss, light powder. Everyone has pimples and everyone knows it - its really not as big a deal as you think it is. I would suggest not wearing foundation or concealer at all cuz that will just make it worse by clogging things up. Powder is all you need it sits on the skin instead on sinking into it so it wont cause more blemishes. Dab a small makeup brush in the powder and tap/dab it on the area you want to cover - finish by taking a larger brush and lightly sweep over/around the area. Trust me- you dont want to look trashy or easy by wearing too much makeup for your age. You want to look pretty - so keep it minimal. (The last thing you want to do is look back at pictures of yourself and say...what was I thinking?)

A little conseler isn't bad to cover the piimples just make sure you take off your makeup every night with a makeup take off cleaner.(there is actual thing like that) the secret to make up is to look as if you have hardly any on. so go easy on the blush and lip gloss (not lipstick) then if you want to go kinda flashy then flash off with the eyeshadow. Lastly, never where blue eyeshadow unless you start off with some really light all over your eye. then shadow with the medium, and lastly by use dark blue anmd get as close as you can to the eye lashes.

I went through this last year...

1) curl your eye lashes
2) apply SOME mascara
3) put on a little bit of blush to accent your cheek bones
4) NO COVER UP it makes you look cakey, i say use clean and clear, clearasil (sp), proactiv...
5) some shadow (peach or nude) no dark blues or charcols untill your older
6) clear or nude gloss
7) wax or pluck your eye brows (if you don't already)

- make sure that you wach it off every night or your make up will run and you'll break out over night.

remember: Less is more, people want to see you face, not a clowns!

- listen to these and you won't get a nickname like waffles (i know this girl who did)

Use light moisturizer with an SPF. There's a ton of them made for teenage skin; Cetaphil doesn't make you break out, and it's light.
After that, just use light concealer to cover any red zits. Concealer doesn't mess up your skin if you pick the right one. Almay has one made for teenagers with salicilic acid that helps break outs heal faster.
Then just add nude lip gloss or shiny chapstick to protect your lips.
If you are going to a wedding, or a party, just add mascara and pinkish lip gloss or lipstick. That's all you need at this age.

well because u have pimples- you could try cover up or you don't have to....i feel really guilty telling a 13 year old to wear cover-up but when i was 13, i wore foundation (even though my mother hated it--i'm now 16.)

easy steps for everyday makeup- biggest tip: KEEP IT LIGHT!

1) Maybelline Pure liquid foundation- covers pimples and scarring really well
tip- don't GLOB IT ON! go to the website and check how their how-to videos and click on how to apply foundation- they will show u, its great!

2) follow up with Maybelline Pure stay pressed powder (check their website: www.Maybelline.com

3) a little black or brown eyeliner

that's it....no blush, no eyeshadow (unless u really want to or ur going to a party), no dark lip gloss colors (just clear or just chapstick is fine).....don't overdo....guys HATE THAT!

best of luck!
