usually your dreams are reflections of your life.I think lol. I mean i had a dream that my dad left me in a store and i couldnt get out. And the next day while i was looking at some books he wandered off and i got really scared and couldnt find him for like 10 min. ..... but i do think there is a possibility that dreams can warn you of dangers or show you good fortune. But in my opinion i think that dreams are just what you are thinking about. or what your heart is telling you to think about.

To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain stem continues to fire and the cortex remains active. The thoughts that have been most active during waking hours—perceptions, experiences, thoughts and feelings, processed consciously or unconsciously—are still “peaked” and they associate with other images already linked in your cortex. In other words, the brain references this content, but not in a rational way, not using input from the external real world as in waking hours. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange flow from one image to the next. Therefore, dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but sequences of associated images taken from everyday experiences - thoughts and feelings that matter a lot to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply one-size-fits-all symbols, such as Freudian meanings or standard “dreammoods” formulas. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.

So you see dreams are really related to past and present emotions and associated imagery...NOT to future events. And this makes sense, right? How on earth could you see in a dream what's going to happen in the future?

What you CAN do is use what you learn about your conscious and unconscious feeling from dreams to make decisions to make your life better.

research done into dreams and meaning show there is no correlation between any dream and the persons future.

as far as we can make out dreams are some sort system for making sense of the day and filing the information away.

Freud said that our dreams represent our repressed feelings of our subconscious. When we think about things our thoughts have been filtered by our conscious part of the brain, so the true repressed feelings are kept in our subconscious. For particular dream meanings, look up a particular object or action in your dream here http://www.dreammoods.com/

I don't think dreams mean as much as people think. Sometimes I think they can reflect current worries and fears or someone or something that's been on your mind or maybe something one might be looking forward to but, I really don't believe in all this symbolism.
