While it IS possible to overdue the kind gesture of a hug, more often than not, the hug is underutilized..

Do you mean overdo? I have a problem with people giving me hugs all the time and your question is poignant right now. There is a woman I don't really know that I have sort of become friends with and she is super friendly and does this to everyone. However i have a problem with her kissing me on the cheek and hugging me and rubing her hand up and down my back. She is not gay either ( as far as I know) and she does this with guys too. I have to find a kind way to tell her to stay out of my personal space. So yeah, you have to honour the personal space of others

I love hugs myself and really enjoy giving my nieces and nephews hugs. You have to be a bit careful, some people are not comfortable with touchy-feely, so yes, I think it can be over done if the other person does not like them.
Yes, I would like a hug *****hug*****

It drives me INSANE when random people come up and hug me, then again, I'm not all that open of a person. Some people like it, some don't mind, and some can't stand it. Just look before you glomp!
