Sky are putting out a great 16MB service, but it's not in my area yet. Whatever you do, DON'T go with Tiscali. They are by far the worst ISP I've ever had the misfortune to use.
...I see that Tony T has said this already, but it's true, they are the worst.
AOL, BT and Telewest Blueyonder are all good.

You could have a look at www.namesco.co.uk I have been with them for a while after being mucked about by Eclipse. They have been very good, their customer service is good and they dont lie if there is a problem. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for!!

aol is generally ok - but only if you are a newbie - they are giving a free first month at the moment.
Long-term subscribers should (try) to contact aol to see if they`ll offer a cheaper deal...as many of them are still paying almost £30 per month, while most other providers are offering cheaper deals.
I say TRY cos getting in touch with aol on their phone help is a real pain.

AOL.
£15.99 per month, unlimted downloads, free modem (free wireless router).... + above all.... great reliability. I've been with them on broadband since 2001..... but then I value reliability (very little downtime in 6 years) above all else.
