Virtual villagers 2 question!?

Ok does anyone know what the collectables are for in virtaual villages? Thanks i realy want to know! Do they help or are they just for deceration?

Each time you complete a collection your village can grow by 5 people. So if you have no collections completed you can only max 90 villagers. If you complete one collection you can have 95 villagers, and i fyou complete 2 collections, you can have 100 villagers............ etc.
