Here is a good basketball drill/warm-up. Stretch your legs and arms first. Do 50 push-ups and 50 crunches. I would warm-up by jogging a half of mile. Start running while dribbling the ball across a court two times, switching hands each time you go up the court. That will get your legs faster, and your dribbling mastered. Do 10 lay-ups, so that will make sure you can control the ball while running. Just pretend you started at half-court. Then do some defensive slides across the court two times. That will make sure that you can play defense and run. Shoot in the paint, then foul shots, then shots everywhere else I didn't mention, then 3-pointers. That will make sure that you have percise shooting. Try getting a pass from someone and the square up, then shoot. Work with your dad on this one. Tell your dad to shoot a long shot, tell him to come rebound, but you try to box out and get the rebound. Even if you are a guard, that will help if you play a game with friends or something. LeBron and T-MAC play F an G, so they learned to box out when they were little. Do chest, bounce, and overhead passes with a friend or dad. That is pretty much it. Play a 1-1, 3-3, or 5-5 game at the end to apply what you just did with friends. Good Luck!

hmmm....big guy wanting to play guard????

ok well suicides and stuff will increase fitness so thats a must...work on sprints and runs....cause if u play guard, u need to run up the floor quick for a fast break play which will happen for u as a guard.

in addition work on sliding ur feet and ur lateral movemtn. basically standwith ur feet further then shoulder width apart, then bring ur left OR right leg to the other so ur feet are together, then extend the other leg back to the starting position (although with a different leg). thats the slow paced version, u wanna do it faster though so u slide ur feet in a defensive position...working lateral quickness will also help defend guards if ur playing man to man

good luck

look online..there are a lot of drills for speed and they are really good..I'm a post player and I'm one of the quickest in the league, even though I'm a girl, 6'1, 190 and solid muscle cause i looked for drills online to improve my game. As far as the post thing goes..you need to get really strong, if you arent already, and just work on footwork. those are the keys. Obviously work on your jumpshots like..the fade away type from the block..and just stuff like that..the internet is a really good source for players so i would give it a shot

well i sit on a wall, like put my back up against it and just sit there for about 5 minutes for 3-4 times a day, that helps me increase speed

Do them good old suicides. Have someone taller than you and stronger than you defend you and work on drop steps and hook shots and shoulder fakes.
