Acualy they have and they can. But lets just hope they dont. The first known chimp-human was named Oliver. He was dicovered by a man in Africa, in a isolated location where the local tribes lived very close to the chimps. He was taken in by a family and when he was near sexual maturity he tried to "do it " with the man's wife. So they sold him to another man. He was put on lots of TV shows. Oliver was born of a chimp mother and a human father. They think that it is possible to cross a chimp and a human, and they have but it was keep pretty secret.
There was a special on dicovery channel

Chimps and gorillas are Hominids, yet they don't look people. Chimps belong to the genus Pan, and gorillas belong to the genus Gorilla. they're very heavily on the challenge of us, yet they lack a pair of the signature traits of the human lineage. they're merely partly bipedal, in a position to stroll upright merely distinct the time. people are completely bipedal, able to continuous bipedal operating. Chimpanzees and gorillas do no longer share contained in the vocal linguistic potential which, if the Broca's mind section contained in the cranium of even Homo Habilis is to be believed, has been area of our historic previous because the start of our line. Chimpanzees and gorillas have tremendous incisors - people of all sorts have small incisors, indicating that the fashion of male cooperation, lady/male pair bonding it truly is alien to our cousins yet inherent to our lineage has been with us because the start.

I think it is possible. And, I think it has been tried but kept a big secret because it is so socially unacceptable.

if you force fertilization by fusing eggs and sperms, the different number of chromosomes will create a mitotic catastrophe and the cells would die at the first division. But at normal conditions, the egg will reject the sperm as they are different species. George bush is actually the only exception of a mix between a retarded monkey and an asshole.

Nobody has tried this, because it would be somewhat disgusting and uncomfortable for the human. Plus, although humans are apes, we are quite distant from our fellow simians.
