A cubic foot of water is about 7 gallons (27 litres actually). Your pond is 36 cubic feet, so that's about 250 gallons, if I did the math right in my head.

Easiest to solve by converting to cubic inches, since 1 gallon of water occupies 231 cubic inches.
6' x 4' x 1.5' = 72" x 48" x 18" = 62,208 cubic inches total volume of pond.
62,208 cubic inches of pond volume / 231 cubic inches per gallon = 269.298701.... gallons of water.
But this will totally fill the pond.
Allow 72" length x 48" width x 2" depth of freeboard = 6,912 cubic inches of freeboard.
This reduces the amount of water by 6,912 / 231 = 29.922077... gallons. The total amount of water to put into the pond will be 269.298701 - 29.922077 = 239.376624 gallons.

6 ft X 4ft X 1.5 ft =36 cubic feet

7.481 gallons per cubic foot
231 cubic inches per gallon

36 X 7.481 = 269.316 gallons
