Good answer Genevieve, I would only add this :
The few remaining people in the bunker did try to carry out their instructions to burn the bodies of Hitler and his wife, however that is not as easy as it might sound, they didn't have sufficient fuel. There is archive film of what was reputed to be the results of those efforts.
The Soviets reached Berlin, thus the Reich's Chancellery building, under which the bunker was situated, before any of the other allies, a point which irritated many, notably Patton. It is widely believed that Stalin ordered the Red Army to secure Hitler, dead or alive, and get him out of Germany to avoid any possibility of him being a focus of Nazi revival, or some kind of twisted martyr. Indeed, probably cremated and scattered at random in the USSR.

He has no grave. The story is that his body and the body of his new bride, Eva Braun, were burned after they committed suicide. However, the Russians claim to have his body as his wish to be consumed by fire wasn't carried out by his subordinates after his suicide.
