In my media class we are currently studing the Austin Powers movie. To be honest i havnt actually watched a whole austin powers movie and have only seen part that have been shown in class. I know that this is a big film and it has a big fan base. Im now starting an essay on this with the title:

Analyse the way the creators of Austin Powers manipulate the stereotypical villain to represent the charactor of Dr. Evil...

Im just looking for a few ideas that big fans of the movie may know, some good saying, personality features, his relationship with iother charactors and the technical stuff aswell (camera angles. If you have any good ideas, funny saying he uses that i could introduse this would be very helpful.

Thank You

Okay, your question is essentially about the stereotypes found in Dr. Evil.

He is very egotistical. So much so that he has a sidekick named "Mini-Me" - in the film this character dresses like and acts like him, but is 1/6 his size. Verne Troyer plays this role.

He is maniacally authoritative.

He is an idiot. He wants a trillion gazillion dollars from the US government - an amount of money that doesn't even exist.

He resides in a secret hideout. Batman's villans always did that.

He cackles like all "evil villans" do.

Um.... he has a crack team of other villans to do his dirty work.

He has focused on ONE individual to be the receiver of all of his evil plots: Austin Powers - - - out of jealousy.

I can't really think of a whole lot but I tell you, you are cheating yourself if you don't watch, esp. The Spy Who Shagged Me. I LOVE Austin Powers movies. Goldmember was straight to the trash heap, though. Skip THAT one.

Ok here goes:
He is based on a james bond baddie called blofeld and imitates him closely.
He is always stroking a cat called Mr bigglesworth.
He puts his little finger to his mouth on several occassions.
He has a mini double of him self called mini me.
He is austin powers brother (major twist from goldmember, the third movie).
He has a right hand man called number two.
He says the word FRICKING a lot. E.G. throw me a fricking bone here scott ( his son).

Hope this helps you a little bit and good luck with the essay.

Even though it will be painful to sit through, you should watch the movie to get the true feeling. I myself did not care for the Austin Power flicks, thought they were beyoond stupid but that is just my opinion and I am sure I will get a lot of flack from my response but it is only one person's opinion

I would love to help, but the best way for you to do this would be to watch the movies. You'd get a much better idea and you would be doing the work yourself, instead of asking us to do it.Don't mean to be rude but im doing a degree and in my eyes this is cheating sorry hope you do well x
