i want to travel around Kyusyu for about ten days. At first i wanted to travel by bike, but i gave up because Kyusyu is a mountainous insland.
I am a student, therefore i want to have a nice trip as cheap as possible. Can you help me to find out how ?

I live down in Kagoshima, and if you are on a budget, I would recommend the rail pass for the train system. But due to some privatization of some of the railroads, the pass won't work universally like it used to. So, I would recommend even stronger, moving around by bus. Buses go everywhere, and they are relatively cheap.

I couldn't, in good faith really recommend this next method, but I am telling you just in case you are feeling adventurous. I know several of my former students have traveled all over Kyushu hitchhiking. They just waited at the entrance to the expressway and thumbed rides. Free transport, can't beat that. But no one ever did it alone. Always at least three people. So, if they got picked up, they would always out number the people in the car already, unless they were picked up by a van. Well, you see what I mean.

Good luck.

It's not as cheap as a bike but the train system is good.
