i haven't had a period in a long time. in august of 06 i had a tubal pregnancy and never got my period so far. i have been having unprotected ( i figure you can't get pregnant if no periods). i know have alot of pressure, peeing alot, tired, light cramping, but still no period, and i'm always sick from 7pm till the next morning. i took a test today but it didn't work and i remember my doctor telling me it can take up to me being 5 months along before i finally show up on a urine test or a blood test strong enough. we found out i was pregnant last time cuz they thought i had appendixides and did a ultrasound. i really don't know what to do. am i over reacting or am i actually being smart.

Believing you can't get pregnant because you didn't have a period yet is NOT being smart, period. And you may have misheard that doctor, because most people will test positive from a urine test 5 to 7 days before a period is due, and blood tests are much more sensitive and earlier than urine tests. If you are pregnant, the blood test will be positive no later than the day of the missed period.

You are in deep, deep denial. Even if you are not pregnant, you need to see a doctor if you are not having periods this long and have symptoms.

Also, one tubal or ectopic pregnancy increases your risk of having another one, and your symptoms could be this or a normal pregnancy or something else all together. See a doctor and be safe.

If you have not had a period since your tubal pregnancy, your best bet is to schedule a doctor's appointment and share your concerns with the doctor. They can accurately test you, and if you ARE pregnant, determine or at least estimate how far along you are in the pregnancy.

If it turns out you are not pregnant, you will want to have conversations with your doctor about the fact that you have not had a menstrual period since August and also about methods of birth control.

Good luck!

There's a good chance you are pregnant. You do have common symptons of pregnancy. I remember when I was using an interuterine device reading that if a woman wasn't using a form of birth control that prevented fertilization, she would be likely to conceive 4 months out of 12 if she was normal and healthy.

If you aren't pregnant, you could have a tumor or other medical problem. So go to a doctor.

I will say you are being smart when you tell me you have been to a Dr. to find out the truth and stop self diagnosing. You could be pregnant or you could have a tumor. Either way if you are pregnant you should be on vitamins for the baby's sake as well as yours. If you want to be pregnant then I hope you are and best of luck but this is not something to take lightly.

go to the doc and get a blood test done that would be able to let you know if you are pregnant or not and at this point i would like to offer some off the record advice.....unless you are in a totaly devoted relationship then do not have unprotected sex because you may not be pregnant but you could get a std.and if you are pregnant then that disease can be passed to your baby during your pregnancy and even during labor.
