Tragedy + time.
(Source: Alan Alda's producer character, in Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors)
I imagine it refers to terrible events that aren't funny at the immediate moment, but get funny down the road. Remember all the jokes floating about the space shuttle explosions, Anna Nicole Smith, and even this one about a Presidential assassination:
"Well, beyond THAT, Mrs. Lincoln....how was the show?"

To each their own. I guess everyone is different.....all goes to personality and amusement levels. Me, personally....I am easily amused and can find humor in almost everything. I have a terrible case of bad luck and have learned to laugh through times other people might break down. I laugh at inappropriate times. One of my favorite comedians is George Carlin. His humor is so funny and sometimes so logical.
So humor is what you make of it........and what makes it funny is up to the person............

Everyone has a different sense of humour...what is funny to some is tasteless to others and what is not funny to some is hilarious to other people....It is all relative
