MARRIAGE is better! It means you actually have a commitment to somebody besides promising to help pay 1/2 of the rent every month. I am not against co-habitating as long as the couple plans on having a solid future together (discussed and agreed to the possibility of marriage). But living together just for the sake of living together with no real plans to take it any farther? Give me an example of where THAT has ever ended good when the lease is up and somebody wants to move out!!!

Marriage. There is commitment and plans of a future together in a marriage. Co habitation may work for some people who are looking for relationships with no strings. However I think there are lot of heartaches in co habitation where anyone can look for a way out easily without the legal hassles.

I prefer marriage much better because it is a choice of the heart and to love and be loved for life. Co-habitation has no love involved and is usually out of sheer need with ne emotions involved.

Marriage should be the goal that all daters are working toward. Co-habitation encourages having a relationship without having to worry about permanence, which ultimately hurts one side or the other.

Women in the US prefer marriage because if they get divorced they get a free ride for life. The ex-husband has to pay and keep paying until she marries again.

Marriage only. It has no replacement. No principle, purity or commitment is there in the latter. Think over the difference between a civilized man and an animal.

Each according to the situation. Both have takers. Cohabitation is all right when you aren't ready to marry. It has fewer obligations and commitments. You are free to leave when you don't agree with your live in partner. No questions asked. So cohabitation is essentially ideal when you aren't prepared to shoulder responsibilities of a married life. But when you want to go the family way and raise kids, you better marry.
