When you say can`t escape the thought, do you actually mean that the thought is always on your mind or is that an exageration?
It seems to me that the term inferiority complex is so common that you are probably looking for something else.
There is certainly a lack of self-esteem which fortunately can easily be corrected with simple affirmations. Find a therapist who works with them since you could save yourself a lot of money that way. Of course we don`t even know if this applies to you or someone else or even if you are looking for help.

Well, being unable to escape the thought that you are so much better than everyone else is called narcissism.
I think the first 2 answerers are correct with "inferiority complex."

Low self esteem. Why do need a fancy term for something so simple. Low self esteem being the gatekeeper of allowing one to have have an inferioty complex and all kind of insecurities..... Is this for homework?

It is insecurity. You need to do a moral inventory of yourself and try to look at all of the good things about you. Go forward and be proud of your good traits. Also, be thankful for all you have, both mentally and physically. You will find that there isn't really a reason to feel this way. Good luck.

I don't know, but it sounds like a type of depression. I would check in to seeing a therapist, just to see what they say.
