No it is because the of the nucleus of the atom the electrons are held. Ok now let us take the universe. How does the planets revolve in a definite path always? It is because the Sun at the center acts as the nucleus of the universe makes it happen with it's enormous magnetis force. Ok let us even take our own manmade satellites. How does it floats in that same position for years in the earth's orbit. It is because of the force from the core of the earth which keeps it intact with the planet.

But in the molecule the atoms aren't still they keep moving randomly and when any magnetic or electromotive force is applied to it it streams in a definite path. The molecule of the metal keeps it's own shape as long as it is in an optimum temperature.
