My best friend said that she went to a doctor one day and he put a shot of morphine in her for no reason. Then she said she went to him a couple days later and before he gave her the blood test he told her to unzip her pants, but she didnt want to so the doctor unzipped them himself and put his hand in her underwear and started to well "touch" her there, but she said he stopped after he kicked her. Do they really actually have to touch you there before a blood test, or should she tell the police about it or something? thx

Sounds like your friend needs to find a new Dr. - this is DEFINITELY inappropriate behavior on the part of the Dr. - she could also tell the police, but if she has no proof, then that probably wouldn't do her any good. Tell your friend too, that she could request a nurse in the room if she is uncomfortable, but I wouldn't go back there if it was me. Your friend could also contact the better business bureau and file a complant that way too. Hope this helps

As a healthcare provider I say the police need notified. Did she tell her parents? Why would she return to a provider who did such a thing? How does she know it was morphine...and how would her parents NOT know...if she had morphine it would have resulted in bizaare behavior on her part. There's alot to this story that makes no sense...however, any reports of abuse should be taken seriously untill proved otherwise. Quite frankly, a medical assistant being present in the room for an exam which contains undressing of a female patient being seen by a male healthcare provider was initiated NOT because the medical community was concerned about the patients comfort. It was started because healthcare providers were concerned about being accused of such acts and had nobody to verify the story. A woman medical assistant present adds credibility. I am not saying medical providers cannot be sexual deviants. But female patients can be people with mental issues. So.....a female assistant in these circumstances is absolutely necessary.

All that you describe is assault or sexual assault and misconduct. She should file a police report and complaint to the local medical society.

There is no reason to give an injection of a narcotic for a simple blood test and no reason why you would need to have your genitals groped for one either. And there should always be a female assistant present if you must undress or expose your private parts.

If your friend won't report this, do so yourself. She also needs STD and pregnancy testing since there is no telling what he did if she was "out" from the shot.

I'm no doctor but, that is a 120% wrong. She needs to contact the police ASAP! No doctor should force your friend or anyone to unzip their pants. She needs to report this FAST!!!!

Yep. She was assaulted. Tell her to never, under any circumstance, let him give her a "breathalizer test".
