My dad has a document for his work. I know i can send it directly to word, but it has lines all around it. He wants to scan it so he can fill in the blanks on his computer, but I am not sure how to do that. When i transfer it to word, it gets all messed up. I could send a copy of the document if one needs help understanding. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know what you mean. I use ABBYY FineReader 5.0 Sprint Plus that came with my printer/scanner. It works great for converting those types of things into workable documents.

So scan it as picture, let him open the picture, and use a PAINT program's text tool to fill in whatever blanks there are.
