Backing up data to another hard drive/DVD is not always the best option. If there is a theft or a disaster such as a fire, you would lose your backup as well as your computer.

The best way to backup is online. This has the added bonus of allowing you access to all your backup files from anywhere - as long as you have access to the internet.

This site offers unlimited storage for $4.95/month. It will probably take you a few weeks to back everything up, but after that it runs automtatically in the night and just backs up the changed files.

They also offer 2GB for FREE!

You may consider a USB external 400mb hard drive. They are fairly cheap on eBay and easy to use as a way of backing up your data. This is what I use! They are small, light-weight, and are typically plug & play. Hope this helps! Good luck!
