What was Chiang Kai Shek's main goal?

What was Chiang Kai Shek's main goal? In my opinion it was to establish one government in China but in your opinion is my opinion right or wrong? and do you think that Chiang was a hero? From 1-5, how would you rate him? Me I would give him a 3 because to me he isnt much of a hero or a villain but can I have your opinions?

He's a hero coz he want to establish a Democratic China. I would rate him 10 points
