Primetime network TV used to be awash in Private-Eye shows?

Now there are NONE as far as I can tell. If they were so popular once, what happened?

I think people decided that doctor shows were more popular, plus we went through that stage where 75% of the shows were reality shows.
USA has 2 private -eye shows with a twist though - Monk and Psych.
