I'm 20 years old and I'm out of the house and in my own apt, i have a job, and am going to school this summer. My parents still help me now and than but not all the time, I want to be more responsible and show my parents that i'm growing up. But the truth is i dont know how, i still feel like a teenager in some ways and i want to become more mature. Can anyone please give me some advice?

The very fact that you are asking means you are on the right track, considering yourself and your behaviour. Try to maintain a good budget; do not be impulsive with your shopping, and try to set aside some money each week for those emegencies that invariably show up. so that you can manage more often, on your own, without your parents assistance. Keep a nice, orderly space. When the outside has order, it tends to spill over to your spirit. Your parents will be impressed when they come to visit. Arrange to have them come over for a simple meal or even dessert and coffee. Pick some wildflowers for your mother and maybe write each of them a personal note thanking them for their love and guidance. Explain to them that you are consciously on a path towards maturity. Now breathe, and go forward, with love and kindness as your motive. They should be proud to have a young woman like you for a daughter.

You're doing a good job! Keep it up. But to show your PARENTS that you're maturing, it's got to be all about them, showing THEM, you know? Parents need to feel respected, honored, celebrated and appreciated. Send them simple greeting cards in the mail from time to time. When you go to their house, offer to help in whatever they happen to be doing at the time. Without knowing a whole lot about your personality in particular, I'm not sure if there are some things about yourself you might want to take a look at so I think you cannot fail by placing some focus on THEM. Make them feel special but be sincere in doing so. Be a woman of your word. Thank them for what they have done for you. Your desire to please them is very honorable. Good thing!

Impress your parents with your grades and school and work not only in the summer but during school too. Maturity is overrated and you should still have fun and I think everyone still has that little kid inside of them.
