I need some general info that I'm having trouble finding. (Waaay too many general answers in Google n' all.)

Pricing for coffins (with information on 'customizing' them, since the coffin I have in mind will be built with some extravegance).

Pricing for mausoleums (again, with a wider range of estimates, since this will also be 'decked out'.)

Pricing, estimated, for choosing your burial site and such. (I'm sure choosing your own plot of land will be its own expense.)

Last, I would like information on your ability to affect the rules of your burial site. Specifically, bending the rules of a cemetary to allow your mausoleum to remain unlocked.

Thanks so much!

Please do me a favor and NOT post comments that don't actually answer my question. Things like 'you're weird!' and all.

I'm hoping people here will be adult enough not to do that, though.

As with everything there is a great difference in prices. You want to do above ground and that is fine. A casket will cost you no less then 2 grand and up to 12 grand for the top caskets. The maus will be no less then 1500 (depends on places) and can be up to fifty grand tops. The expenses of the funeral will be recorded in the paper work. But I think about 6 grand at the lower end, and normally ten to fifteen grand.
Most places are very strict about their rules and will not let you bend much.
You are very, very, very wise to pre-plan. It will save your family pain and money. Good for you, nobody should call you weird. This is wisdom at it's best and you should be commended.

All you have to do is make an appointment with the funeral home and cemetery that you prefer and they have people who can show you all the options you want. You can tell them special requests and you can set up a prepayment and usually negotiate good discounts when doing it ahead of time.
