I'm not talking about sandals -- I know it's tacky to wear socks or stockings with sandals. But something like "peep-toe" shoes -- looks like a pump with just an inch or so of open toe -- can I wear hose with that? If not, has anyone tried toeless pantyhose? I can't figure out how they'd not keep rolling up your foot...

no.

generally, you can wear hose with just about any type of high-heeled shoe. it depends on the color hose. dark-color (black, for example) hose mixed with a killer pair of shoes is very big among fashion editors and designers this season. flesh-colored...not so much.

too see what i mean, go to:

and see how the best of the fashion world wear their heels.

I have worn toeless hose, they are just hemmed around the toe opening so they won't run. Truthfully, if you wear ultra sheer stockings with a clear toe they look the same, unless someone is crawling around on their hands and knees inspecting your toes.

It is interesting that peep hole shoes were big in the late 40's and early 50's when women always wore nylons, and the peep hole was a way to show off the nylons, not the toes. Now it seems that the hottest fashion accessory for centuries have become taboo by a few Hollywood types, too lazy to dress correctly.. Whats wrong with this picture?

No, not always, actually during the winter alot of women wear dark stockings, like black stocking, or tights with open toe shoes.

Just make sure you get the stockings that say "sandal toe" on the packaging, which comes with a full stocking but does not have the long horizontal seam down by the toes. It made especially for open toe shoes. It comes in every brand.

For a peep toe, you can if you want. For something more open, I would say no, although I see people do it. It's hard to do that without the seam showing. Don't bother with 'toeless' hose. Just make sure you position the seam so it doesn't show, and you're good.

It is "Never" wrong to wear ultra sheer stockings with a clear toe under open toe shoes. In fact it looks so tacky to see someone all dressed up for an occasion with bare legs and feet. Not everywhere is as tacky as Hollywood.

they make hose with just a seam that goes acrss your toes. you can`t see the seam is that what you are talking about. they would be called toeless meaning that they do not have the reinforced toe they are great for the open toe shoes.

No, if you are a ne'ne' or a surrealist. The legwear and the shoes have gotta be garish, like you KNOW you are breaking a taboo. Black toenails, magenta legs, sparkly emerald shoes, prim, sober clothes.

Toeless tights and the like are just too awful to contemplate.

Today's Hollywood actors dress like crap.Just look at how men and women show up wearing ripped jeans, sneakers, messed up hair, and women show up with scraggly hair, dresses made by so called designers that can't seem to make a dress for a common pooch.Just look at old Hollywood film clips of award ceremonies. The men were dressed in classy tuxedos and were the epitome of a gentlemen.Women were dressed like ladies.Beautiful and elegant. They wore gorgeous dresses and hose to complete their outfits.Truly a class act.Compare that with the freak show we see today.

Do not wear panty hose with open toe shoes, this makes your entire outfit look sort of odd or out of place. Try the pant hose that stop at your ankles I'm actually wearing a pair right now, they have a stronger grip around your ankles (or a little above the ankle) so it won't slip. this sort of panty hose would look ultra cut. You can definetly wear this panty hose with open toe shoe and it would look dope. hope i could help.
