I think ego is always one inside each one of us. But this ego is not me. It's got plenty characteristics which are meant to be ME, but it's not. Ego is part of my physical being. It is temporary I believe. My ego exists until my body is alive, it is designed to "represent" and "protect" my interests during the life period in the world full of egos of other people, and that is why it has many faces (depends on a situation), but is unique and ... and pretty sinful.

We're all a bit crazy. It's inadequate superego formation that worries me most (unless it happens to be a good thing), but not as much as Freud's essays in psychoanalysis.
