I gave birth 6 days ago. I had a second degree tear, and got stitches in my pernium (sp?). Last night, after peeing, some of the stitches came out (enough to see knots) I am uncomfortable there now, but not in any increased pain.I was wondering if any one else has experienced this.

Mine started coming out at about a week. It was more uncomfortable the first few days they came out. Just keep using the spray bottle thing they gave you or taking sitz baths.

about a week after giving birth my stitches were coming partially out so I had the bright idea to pull on them to see if they were still attached, well, they were and I ended up ripping them. It hurt and bled for a little while. But as long as it stops bleeding within fifteen minutes (it might be hard to tell since your probably still bleeding from giving birth) and it doesn't really hurt. you should be fine. After a week it should be almost completely healed, the type of tissue found in the vagina heals much faster than the rest of the body. If you didn't pull the stitches were probably coming out on their own anyway, I wouldn't worry about it.

sweetie you need to see your obgyn today or tommarrow-call and tell them what happened....he will look at the incision and possibly put stitches in where the others came out...this is crucial so that u heal properly
