When I walk around in the house in my night shirt and panties in the morning my mom gets worried that I may catch a cold and brings me warm socks and a cardigan :)
I'm 25 and unfortunately don't see mom very often. But when we are together we get on pretty well.

well if it is your mothers house seems to me it is house rules. She probably is set in her ways and is used to her way of things. Maybe she should not get mad but talk to you as an adult and ask you not to do this. But on the other hand you being an adult should respect her wishes. I you had someone at your home you would like if they would comply with yours. Because what is ok to someone else may not be to you. Not worth arguing with your mom.

Perhaps your mother feels sad when she sees you walk around with hardly only clothes on as she regrets her lost youth. Or she doesn't want the neighbours staring.
Just be considerate and put on a dressing gown or robe - it isn't worth having an argument about something like this. She is letting you live in her house after all.
Mothers can be very annoying, but make the most of her nevertheless. You only get one.

Is there a man in the house, or a brother, maybe she thinks it is not becoming of a woman to walk around the house in this manner. She apparently finds it inappropriate, so just put a robe on and abide by her rules, it is her house as you said, respect it.

If there are other people in the house, ie. males, I can understand your mothers concerns. Also, if it is her house you are being disrespectful of her wishes. Maybe she wants the added protection of clothing between her furniture and you than just your panties offer.

It is not so much as dumb, it is a matter of respect. If she does not like you to walk around like that in HER house then I would not do it.

You are being disrespectful. Mothers are not "dumb." Move your a** out if you don't like her rules. I love it when people think they are so much smarter than other people, but they can't make it on their own.
I have a magnet that says, "Hire a teenager now, while they still know everything." Sounds like you are still in that teenager mode, regardless of your age.
