the doctor is the only one who can answer you. there is no medication to stop it that is "non-prescription".

My dear friend, as everybody says I also would say that she needs a doctor immediately, immediately, just finish the reading of this answer and take her to ta doctor at once.
By the by, the very fact that she does not want to go to doctor, makes me little bit suspecious that she had unprotected sex with her BF and might have conceived. Having come to know that, or persumed to have been consumed due to the missing of periods, she might have consumed medicines to abort the unwanted baby or consumed some unwanted old lady hone mady medicine. In all perspectie, she requires medical attention. If this probability is over ruled, then she might be suffering from endometritis, fibroids, etc. No need to panic, everything is curable.

She is in danger of becoming anemic if the flow doesn't slow or stop soon. Her blood could be low in iron, she may have underlying causes such as fibroids or endometriosis. Either of these conditions, if left unchecked, can lead to more serious problems. She really should see a doctor and soon. Maybe she should be taking iron supplements until she sees a doc.

She really does need to see a doctor. They may want to put her on at least a low hormone birth control pill to regulate her cycle. You need to get her there soon as she can become anemic from the lack of iron and loss of blood. Hope she's okay.

She's not ready to go to a doctor??? I don't know who else she feels is more qualified than a doctor. Tell her not to trust her body to anybody just off the street. She needs to go. I would!

this is bad, periods last 6-7 days at most so she needs to see a doctor at once

What is she waiting for? Tell her to see the doctor ASAP. And if you really are a friend and are concerned get a doctor to see her at home.
