Hercule Poirot did not have a brother; however he did pretend to be Achille Poirot in a case where he had faked his own death to put a criminal off guard. He shaved off his famous moustache and gave himself a scar to complete the different persona and managed to fool his best friend Hastings into believing he was not Hercule but Achille.
I think it was in the book, The Labours of Hercules, but may be wrong.
