yes.
taiwan is a democracy, communist china is not.
but because china buys so much of the usa's debt our ability to defend the real democracies in the world has been greatly diminished.
because of the war in iraq and other wreckless spending habits, the usa will not be able to defend taiwan when china finally invades it.

Taiwan stole alot of goddies from China, you can see it on the museums in Taipei. I think they would have a chance to be independent if they returned the stolen goods back to the mainland. But i c an not see why, look at Hong Kong, nothing really happend after the takeover. People where in panic and went everywhere, but not they are back. Chinese government is not as bad as many in the west think. They have a plan, look at the development in the past 25 years, no one could do the same.

Taiwan is related with China for thousands of years. It's Chinese civil war that separated the two parts. The process of democracy will coming in China in not a very long time..At that time Taiwan's leader will not have any reason to attack China. Now two parts should keep the situation before the democracy of China.Taiwan's culture is one part of China's.

That used to be something that the US could help decide. Now because of Mr. Bush borrowing a trillion dollars from Communist China so American billionaires could get tax cuts, the US pretty much has to do what the Communist government of China tells us to do. Nobody argues with the mortgage holder!
