Your so far off base, just because the USA is trying to keep their economy growing, and trying to create a more peaceful world, where people are equal to there rights, and freedom, doesn't mean were trying to rule the world.
Oh, sure you can let China take a go, if you want to live under a Communistic system. NO thanks, think I'd rather drown myself and die free.

If we weren't doing that good of a job, then we wouldn't rule the world! I'm not against any other countries, and when they want to rise to our level, then by all means!! as far as i can tell, britian isn't doing all so hot itself.. i've seen quite a few "questions" on here from brits bashing thier own country.. how many americans have you seen do that?!?

Well, we're not trying to rule the world, nobody's just stepping up to the plate to do anything, so when the US does some stuff, it looks like we're trying to rule because we're the only ones doing anything. Now, whether it's productive or not, well, the jury may still be out on some of those cases.

NO! China cannot have a go. They just figured out how to put a man in orbit a few years ago. If you're going to rule the world then you need to rule the universe too.

I don't think the US wanted to rule the world - we were trying to free other countries from tyrannical rule and help them toward democracy. Letting China have a go, that's sounds about as successful as the Russian bloc countries have been.

I'm British too. I dont think any country should rule the world. Bush should sort out America before trying to sort out other countries. Charity starts at home.

And the US won't 'rule' the world forever. No empire is indefinate..maybe China will have its opportunity eventually.
