I vaguely remember a music video...?

When I was younger, I remember watching a music video quite often. I think it was Alanis Morissette, but I'm not sure and I can't remember any of the words, but it was from the mid-90's and it was back in time from big, powdered wigs in the 1600's to now.

I would really like to know the name of that song or artist
