I'm currently using the depo provera injection and have been for the past 9 months since meeting my boyfriend. Due to this I have no periods. I know that the injection is 99.7% effective but I have the strangest feeling that I am pregnant and several symptoms as well (weight gain, fatigue etc). I know that these symptoms can be a result of the injection and other things but I just can't get rid of the feeling. After justifying to myself all the reasons why I can't be pregnant I have finally decided to take a pregnancy test this evening. My question is should I tell him I'm taking a test? Or should I wait until I've taken it so we can find out together? Or even just wait to find out myself and then tell him if I am or not? I don't want to cause him worry if everything is fine but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to take a test on my own. I'm just so confused by it all. Obviously if I am pregnant I'll tell my boyfriend, I love him very much and I would never keep such a thing from him.

I would't wait to take it--take it find out results and just be like hey i took a pregnancy test but its negative no worries just wanted to check or if its positive ya know make an appt asap--i've never heard of anyone getting pregnant on the shot but i know its possible-anything is-but i also know that weight gain comes with it and you could be tired due to like the flu or something-but i'd def. take the test to be sure! if hes there than have him wait it out with u , but u can take the test at home and tell him u took the test. all the symptoms u say can be from the birth control too. I took my test alone and called him after the results. i didint want to be likke the boy who cried wolf. i felt pregnant 100 x's i swear so i told him how i felt, but didi it on my own the first time. now we have 3 kids. lol its life dont be shy or embarrassed. you had sex right? your trying to be precautious with birth control.

Walk your stressed-out butt to the store and buy a pregnancy test! The worry is useless, you're traumatizing yourself by waiting.
Buy 2 tests though. That way, if either of you go into shock about the answer, you can re-verify the results.
My opinion? You're having side-effects.

I would just take a test alone...you are right these sympoms can be from the shot and not actual pregnany symptoms. if it is positive then get another and take it with him....tell him you were worried and took a test already but want to make sure it's right. I doubt you are pregnant being on depo and you don't want to get him all worked up for nothing.

i didnt think it was a big deal to tell my boyfriend i was taking a test i though why get him all stressed out if it turns out to be negative i didnt want to get him all stressed untill i knew for sure but later on i came to find out he was really hurt and offended i didnt tell him i was taking a test even though it was negative but now im 37 weeks pregnant and we couldnt be happier good luck and you have my best wishes so i think you should tell him

well if you don't tell, he'll probably guess, with the weight gain, food cravings, morning sickness, plus the growing belly. Nah keep it a secert.

i think he has the right to know do you think he would make a good father to your kid? if he would then take it together if he has said thinks like i never want kids just let yourself know first but do what you feel is right. good luck!

Tell him if it turns out positive, but if ur not pregnant than dont tell him so he does not get all worried.
