If they want to shop, Faneuil Hall is a great place. There are also lots of wonderful restaurants. The big flower show is coming right up.

Will they do museums and historical sites or the aquarium?

I enjoy sitting on a bench and watching people, but not if you're going next week, because New England is about to have a cold snap.

Don't try to drive downtown - stop in a suburb and take the train in. Boston has great public transit.

Go to a hotel or sightseeing place and ask them what's available. Most of those places have brochures of where to go and what to see. Have fun. Boston is a nice place.
