Well, thiry years ago someone was adament that we were headed for a new ice age. Today those same people are saying the Earth is heating up and it's our fault. No, in Geologic time, 30 years may as well be a few minutes. The fact is, the Earth is too young to determine its heating and cooling patterns.
As for the hollywood crowd preaching it to me, it would be much easier to believe them if none of them flew around in private jets to come to a town near me and tell me not to drive my car.

I do not think it is a conspiracy, but they do have a hidden agenda. Al Gore is playing politics. Many environmentalists see the polluting of the earth as immoral even if there is no "global warming".
As for the consensus built up at conferences, shouldn't conferences be held to find the truth? Why are they only inviting scientists who support global warming? Finding the truth means hearing arguments from all sides. I will tell you why. In sociology there is something called a group mentality ie. if everybody supports it, it must be the truth, so I am going to support it as well. They are purposely giving the impression that global warming is a unanimous consensus so you can get into their group mentality.

Where's the conspiracy when it's all around you. It's on the television every night when we hear about freak weather. Mainstream scientists minus the few idiots that get the free publicity for saying it is a conspiracy are in total agreement on at least four points : a) It exists and we better get used to it; bï¼We are all guilty of complicity; cï¼We all need to be part of the solution instead of being the problem; d) It might already be too late given the damage we have heaped on our planet in the last century;
As for 'American bashing', you are either for survival or you're not, regardless of your nationality.

Convenient way to Bash America? I don't think so.
I look at it this way....the Democrats have Global Warming. The Republicans have Global Terrorism.
Both sides have something to make you scared and come running to them to "fix it".
I'm a homesteader, which means I'm greener than the greens, more organic than the organics...but I do so because it saves me money and saves my health,...not to 'save the world'.

Yes. Back in the seventies it was global cooling . A consensus is not science. No scientist believes the world is flat but there are many who know global warming is fake. Many scientist who say something against it get funding taken away.

no.
and the idea of global warming as a conspiracy will be looked upon the same way the flat earth society is looked upon today.
the flater earthers look outside their window and things look pretty much flat, so they believe the earth is flat.
radical republicans look out the window and don't see fire in the street so they think that global warming is some worldwide hoax that the entire rest of the world is taking very seriously (even china has higher cafe standards for cars than the usa) just to mess with the radical freakbag republicans who are so tied to the asses of corporations who only see global warming as a dip in next quarter's profits that they can no longer see that leaving the world in a worse condition than we received it in, is a mortal sin.
global warming is a moral issue...

Highly doubtful. America is not infallible, or totally benign. We've made tragic decisions, just like everyone else.
