What has been revealed at Walter Reed only confirms the obvious—official Washington could give a damn for the troops. They are invoked only as needed in the attempt to suppress popular opposition to the war within the US itself.

Drawn overwhelmingly from working class backgrounds, they are viewed as mere cannon fodder for American imperialism’s wars of aggression and conquest in Central Asia and the Middle East, a disposable commodity that once damaged can be thrown onto the scrap heap.

"The dynamiting of the King David Hotel convinced the British to accelerate their departure from Palestine. Zionist terror ended. Mau Mau terror ended when the Brits left Kenya. When DeGaulle cut Algeria loose, FLN terror ended. When Reagan withdrew his Marines from Beirut, anti-American terror ended in Lebanon.

"Lesson? The price of empire is terror. The price of occupation is terror. The price of interventionism is terror." –Pat Buchanan

what the 'head in the sand' republicans will say are things like:dems did something worse sometime in the past, so it's ok to do ghastly things to our fallen heroes now.

i see in our govt a complete breakdown.

politicians take trillions of dollars to run things in a manner that any one of us would consider preposterous - because it is.

we need a new party - one that does not speak for corporations or special interests.

the way it stands now, the average american taxpaying citizen is no longer represented in our government.

Yah right. I hate liberals who use propaganda about "lies" that the government is spreading and extort our troops for political or personal gain.

How many more lies you say? As many as it takes to get what they want. As long as you believe, they will keep going.
